Sponsor a House

Partnerships formed with businesses, organizations, churches, foundations and individuals are called Covenant Partners and enable our ministry to succeed. Working in partnership with those who contribute their time, talent and financial resources, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity is able to make a difference for low and very-low income families without adequate housing in our community.

Our Covenant Partner are asked to contribute approximately half the cost of building a house, currently $30,000, and all the volunteers for an 8-10 week building schedule.  Knoxville Habitat is able to provide volunteers if you are in need of extra labor.

Knoxville Habitat will provide all construction supervision and leadership, and will work closely with your group to ensure a positive building experience.

Expectations of a Covenant Partner:

  • Pay half of the Covenant Partner fee upon signing the Covenant Partner Agreement and choosing a date on KHFH’s build schedule, and pay the other half by the first day of the build.
  • Put together a leadership team.
  • Recruit volunteers for 8 Saturdays or 1 full week – see build schedule samples.
  • Coordinate getting signed waivers from each and every volunteer who will be working on the site, keeping track of who works each day, and turning in the waivers to Habitat at the end of the build.
  • Maintain a relationship with the homeowner family during the build.
  • Most Covenant Partners provide lunch, drinks, and snacks for their volunteers, the family, and Habitat staff each work day.

Benefits of Covenant Partnership:

  • Congregations experience spiritual renewal
  • Provides a tangible opportunity to live out your faith and help a neighbor build a new life for their family
  • Develops strong feelings of community
