KHFH Board Member Moll Anderson Chosen for "Women Who Inspire" Donna Karan

Congratulations to KHFH Board Member Moll Anderson, who fashion designer Donna Karan has named to her "Women Who Inspire" philanthropic campaign for 2011.

Moll is one of a number of noted celebrities to be honored by Karan, including Demi Moore, Maria Shriver, Susan Sarandon, Nicole Kidman, and others.

The purpose of "Women Who Inspire" campaign is to bring greater visibility to the philanthropic efforts around the country and the world of women like Moll, who Karan recognizes for her work though The Charlie and Moll Anderson Family Foundation that supports basic human needs such as food, shelter, education and the protection of children.

"I believe in the power of women. As nurturers, we have a unique ability to care and share and make the world a better place. Women Who Inspire are women who are making a difference," said Karan. This website gives their inspiring messages an inteactive forum, encouraging women everywhere to take action and get involved."

Moll, both as an individual and through her foundation,  is a generous supporter of Knoxville Habitat for Humanity. Most notably, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity has begun work on a 10-year building project called "Music Row" that is funded by the foundation through a private event where top music headliners perform at a benefit event for KHFH. One-hundred percent of the money raised goes towards supporting Knoxville Habitat for Humanity and the creation of a home on "Music Row", which will be 10 houses on one street in the Lonsdale community. Two houses are currently built and a third will be started later this year.

Congratulations to Moll on this fantastic honor. Visit the "Women Who Inspire" website to learn more or to read Moll's philanthopic biography.
