Deconstruction Services

An exciting new service offered by Knoxville Habitat for Humanity is our Deconstruction service. It’s a salvage service where we disassemble a room or an entire home and reclaim saleable building materials for our ReStore.

Demolition work for rebuilding, renovation work or remodeling can be a messy and time-consuming task. But if you are willing to let Knoxville Habitat for Humanity remove and keep cabinets, fixtures and building materials we reclaim, our deconstruction team will come and do the work for you. It’s a great way to get a head-start on your project and reduce materials sent to the landfill. Currently there is no charge for this service from Knoxville Habitat for Humanity.

Items we are looking to salvage in our deconstruction projects:

  • Kitchen cabinetry
  • Light fixtures
  • Wood flooring
  • Carpeting
  • Kitchen and bath fixtures
  • Solid-wood doors
  • Glass doorknobs
  • Windows
  • Mantles
  • Crown molding
