KHFH Focuses on the Humanity of Habitat

2011 Blitz Families

Tis’ the season . . .

But I guess you know that.  The signs are everywhere around you, regardless of where you might be or which tradition you might embrace.

In the Christian tradition, the season of Advent reminds us of the coming of someone whose presence on earth offered a transformative life experience to those who follow his ministry.  It is fitting, therefore, for Habitat for Humanity to be grounded in that tradition, for although many see our organization as simply a homebuilder for low income families, our ministry is actually more about transforming lives than about building houses.  The house is merely the “carrot at the end of the stick;” our real mission comes from educating our participant families to become successful homeowners by making better choices in life

So when you consider your year-end charitable gifts, please remember Knoxville Habitat for Humanity emphasizes the “humanity” as much or more than the “habitat.”  On behalf of those whose lives have been and will be changed by our work, I thank you for the support you have provided . . . and hopefully will continue to provide.

You may contribute by check to 1501 Washington Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917 or donate online.

From all of us to all of you, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas, a wonderful holiday season, and a Happy New Year.
